Check two: the jar itself

The real jar has a printed fill line, because the reveal instructions depend on it: water to the line, shake about 30 seconds. Lookalike jars often skip the line entirely. Product photos showing a plain unmarked jar are worth pausing on.

Check three: what the plush is made of

Series 1 characters are soft felt with printed and embroidered details, some with metallic and holographic accents. Gel-kit lookalikes tend toward molded squishy figures or beads, a different toy wearing the same jar. Listing photos of the revealed toy give this away fast.

Check four and five: the numbers and the badge

The line launched with exactly 20 Series 1 styles including 2 rares, and the listing says so. Lookalikes advertise vague style counts or none. And the real listing carries the Toy Insider Top Summer Toy 2026 award badge, which copycats do not get to borrow.

One more practical tell: model numbers. The single jar is Spin Master model 6073708, the 2-pack is 6077670. Details like that rarely survive the trip onto a knockoff listing.
